Over 30 neurologists, emergency medicine physicians, neurosurgeons, and intensive care physicians from throughout Chile gathered recently for the first Emergency Neurological Life Support (ENLS) course in the country, organized by Columbia Neurohospitalist Dr. Kiran Thakur and sponsored by the Columbia University Global Innovation Fund through the Columbia Global Center in Santiago, Chile.  Colleagues from the University of Chile and the Chilean Society of Critical Care Medicine joined Dr. Thakur, Neurocritical Care Specialist Dr. Sachin Agarwal—who provided the simulation activities—Neurocritical Care Fellow Shivani Ghoshal, and PGY-3 Neurology Resident Kathryn Rimmer in the teaching of this exciting symposium on lifesaving topics, including status epilepticus, approach to coma, traumatic brain injury, and meningitis/encephalitis. The symposium builds upon the strong international collaborations in the Department of Neurology.
