Sharon Sanz Simon, PhD, Associate Research Scientist in the Gertrude H. Sergievsky Center, was interviewed by the Alzheimer's Association for their inaugural ISTAART Voices Global Podcast. Dr. Sanz Simon discussed the need for brain health research, specifically in Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias (ADRD), in underrepresented populations, such as the Brazilian immigrants she studies. She talked about the challenges that such communities face in the U.S., and her goals for advancing ADRD research and helping to develop more culturally sensitive interventions for aging and dementia prevention.
